WebP to JPG Converter
Turn WebP images into JPG files that open everywhere, in bulk, without uploading them anywhere.
Convert WebP to JPG Online
WebP is what many websites now serve instead of JPG and PNG, because it is smaller at the same visual quality. That is great for page speed, but a WebP saved from a browser often refuses to open in an older photo viewer, gets rejected by an upload form, or cannot be placed into a document. Converting it to JPG solves all three.
This page is the Image Converter with JPG preselected. Everything happens locally in your browser tab, so it works for private photos and screenshots too.
When JPG is the right target
- Photos and screenshots of real scenes: JPG keeps them small and every device can show them.
- Upload forms for job portals, government sites and marketplaces that list only JPG or PNG.
- Email attachments and office documents, where recipients may use old software.
- Printing services that ask for JPEG files.
If the image is a logo, an icon or anything with a see-through background, convert WebP to PNG instead: PNG keeps transparency, JPG cannot.
Choosing a JPG quality
| Quality | Good for | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| 90–95 | Photos you will edit or print | Larger files, practically no visible loss |
| 80–89 | Most uses, including the web and email | A good balance; 85 is the default here |
| 60–79 | Thumbnails and previews | Smaller files, some softness around edges and text |
A JPG made from a WebP is sometimes larger than the original, because WebP compresses more efficiently. That is normal; the point of the conversion is compatibility, not size.
Transparent and animated WebP files
WebP can store an alpha channel and animation; JPG stores neither. Transparent pixels are painted white before the JPG is written, and an animated WebP becomes a single still image. For an animation you want to keep moving, a GIF or a video format is the right destination rather than JPG.
Batch conversion and resizing
You can add up to 30 files of up to 25 MB each in one go. The resize options let you cap the width or height or scale by a percentage while converting, which is handy when a form also sets a size limit. Orientation information from the camera is applied first, so portrait photos stay upright, and metadata such as GPS location is not copied into the new file.
Other conversions
Going the other way is just as quick: JPG to WebP makes photos lighter for a website, and PNG to JPG shrinks large screenshots. For a Base64 version of an image to paste into CSS or HTML, use Image to Base64.
